There Is Always A First Time- Siquijor Island, Philippines

Hey Guys! First timer here! Lol This page may look simple for now since I'm still trying to figure out how this site works and I've been contemplating since last night on how to make this blog better. So please bear with me, people. Hihi

I just wanna tell you how beautiful the world is, only if you allow yourself to wander and explore. I've been wanting to share my awesome journey through pictures and videos of the places I've been to. So i'm gonna start with this....

Last year, my friends and I went to a beautiful place in Visayas where it is rumored to be a place of magic, sorcery, witches, love potions, third elements, and other related stuff. I am sure you guys now have an idea where it is. Hahaha Oh yeah, i'm talking about the Island of Siquijor also known as Isla del Fuego or Island of fire.

From Dumagute City, you can ride a tricycle going to Dumaguete Port, once you get there, you take a ferry going to Siquijor. Travel time is 1-2 hours.

From Siquijor Port, we rented a multicab going to Salagdoong Beach Resort and Hotel Agripino where we stayed for 3 days. The resort is located in Maria, Siquijor and about 30 minutes from the port. Initially, the driver offered us a rate of 150 pesos per head, but since we were in a group of twelve, we haggled much down to 100 pesos per head because we were on a tight budget. Hahaha

We reached the resort around 11am and went directly to the beach without changing our clothes. We were too excited to see the blue waters of Siquijor.

Now it's time to feed our hungry souls. Hahahaha

We went back to our hotel room right after our lunch and took a power nap to gain energy for cliff diving.

And.........

Life is an adventure, dare it!

Fishermen suddenly passed by and watched us jumping off the cliff.

We just spent the entire day in the resort over bottles of beer and good music. Taking photographs and having fun under the sun.

And a friend of mine got engaged. Lovely couple

And see  this Guy's reaction. lol

We also played friskbee while waiting for the sunset. And non-stop pictorials. Common boys, show them what u got.

Behind the mystery of Siquijor lies a charming and laid back environment where one can explore the beautiful tourist spots of this island.

Rumors about Siquijor are not true based on my experience because the people are so kind and hospitable plus it is blessed with sleepy atmosphere and quaint spots. Here are some of the shots I took during our visit to the mystical island.

We woke up at 5 in the morning the following day to witness the beautiful sunrise and also to take mandatory pictures. Hihihi

Most of us were still sleepy since we only slept for an hour. We couldnt get enough sleep last night since we were too excited and pre-occupied for today's adventure shit.

They were busy uploading their pictures on facebook. Lol

Finally, manong driver has arrived. We first visited the lazi church and convent in Lazi, Siquijor. It is acclaimed to be oldest convent in Asia.

Inside the lazi convent.

Afer that, we went directly to the majestic cambugahay falls. It is one of the major tourist attractions in Siquijor. Our guide told us that we needed to walk down 135 steps. But our effort paid off when we finally saw the cascading waterfalls. And never leave this place without trying the "tarzan swing".

Go Tina!

It was almost lunch time when we left Cambugahay Falls and went to Coco grove resort.
The map was a big help for us to decide where to go next.

Coco grove resort is in San Juan Siquijor. We stayed there as day guests and paid an entrance fee of 300 pesos each but it was consumable. The food was okay and just enough to fill our hungry tummy. The staffs were all nice and friendly.

Meet and Greet with our ancestors.

There are also other features in the resort like the mini zoo and it was a good place for taking and posing for pictures!

On the beach. The location was great for taking photos.

The boys of summer

By the pool side

At last! Food is served.

Sweet summertime 2014

Enjoy yourself. These are the good old days youre going to miss in the years ahead.

Until next time, Siquijor.
